Please Note: For this position, you must have hands on AS400/iSeries administration experience (including managing the IBM hardware) and also have strong AS400/iSeries programming background.
Do you have a skill set in Development and Infrastructure? Do you also have some experience with AS400 and RPG Development? This position could be a great fit for you.
Our client is in need of expertise to maintain and develop additional features for their AS400 system.
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist with Application Development in SQL and other programming languages.
Assis with Infrastructure projects involving network, security, storage, servers, desktops, etc.
Develop software applications being involved in all the project phases (RPG Code)
Development of features for new software or existing solutions
Maintain, improve and provide support for the features developed
IBM iSeries hardware administration
Installing Power Servers, IBM OS updates and PTFs. This includes legacy AS/400.
Support for the IBM iOS.
Maintain system and device health for high volume printers, tape drives.
Perform and manage backups.
Operate system side software.
Respond to error messages and resolve underlying issues

Required Skills:
Infrastructure experience (Networks, Desktop)
RPG programming language (IV, ILE and Freeform)
SQL
IBM I Command set (Control Language Programming (CLP))
Prior HMC and Console experience
Interaction with users
