OverviewAbacus Technology is seeking a Database Specialist to provide database management and support for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold AFB.

This is a full-time position.

ResponsibilitiesInterface directly with application developers, customers, other database administrators, and vendors to upgrade and sustain databases.

Integrate database with application software as required.

Monitor and tune databases to provide optimal performance, health, and recovery.

Plan and implement military security configuration guidance (STIGS) and vendor patches to secure and protect databases.

Troubleshoot and resolve database operational and integration issues.

Document activities in accordance with configuration management standards and contract deliverables.

Qualifications5+ years experience database administration and management including experience with Windows, VMWare, and STIGs.

Bachelors degree in a related field.

Must be Security+ CE certified.

Must be MTA Database Fundamentals certified or be able to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire.

Must be proficient in upgrading and sustaining databases.

Must be comfortable interacting with application developers, customers, other database administrators, and vendors.

Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Must have good attitude, be adaptable, and have a willingness to learn.

Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret Clearance.
