Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

PRN

Great opportunity with flexibility in an acute care setting

  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis, On-Call requirements: 1-2 weekend shifts per month and 2-3 holidays (both major & minor holidays) per year with Additional Weekday Daytime availability

Here's What You Need

•Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or
Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required

•SLP Experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient setting.

•SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or
SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology Intern License Upon Hire Required
SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Preferred And

•BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.

•Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

•Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.

•Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

What You Will Do

•Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

•Focus and priority on Stroke, NPO (nothing per oral) and pending discharge after evaluation patients

•Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

•Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home
programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

•Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

•Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
