Join us The Engineering Project Manager will provide technical leadership and manage the execution of multiple projects, both on-site at manufacturing locations and remotely. Reporting to the Sr Director of Engineering, the Engineering Project Manager role will be an engineering and technical resource for the Materion Global Engineering Group and may be based out of our headquarters near Cleveland, OH or at one of our manufacturing locations. This take-charge project manager shall have a proven track record of leading projects and be the Corporate representative by providing strong customer focus, building collaboration with site and other functional groups, approaching deliverables with a sense of urgency, and driving design, construction, management and execution of small to large capital projects to successful completion. You will have the opportunity to: + Plans and leads medium to large-sized capital projects/programs with the ability to build and lead effective internal and external project teams + Manage project scope, schedules, finances, risks, and resources to meet project objectives + Uses Front-End Loading (FEL) and/or Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and the Stage-Gate Process for developing, leading and managing projects + Effectively manage equipment FATs, Installations, SATs, and startups, including project closeout and post mortem analysis with proper handoff and signoffs + Coordinate with and influence cross-functional teams with competing goals to gain alignment to the overall project plan and initiatives + Monitor project budget and resource usage, where appropriate, with accurate spending forecast + Work with procurement on vendor selection, prequalification’s and bid packages and overall vendor-client relationship for successful project execution + Facilitate change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget + Make effective presentations of technical material to non-technical people, both written and verbal. Prepare project reports/presentations for management reviews + Lead regular project reviews – communicate status of projects, risks, and actively exercise mitigation plans + Champion and model Project Management Standards and Best Practices. Provide training and coaching as needed REQUIREMENTS: + Solid understanding of project management techniques and procedures + BS degree in an engineering field, e.g., Mechanical or Chemical, PMP certification is a plus + Minimum of 10 years’ experience of engineering in manufacturing plant environment supporting and managing medium to large capital projects up to $25M + A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management with track record of executing projects successfully, from concept to completion + Must be proficient with MS Office, MS Project and Visio. + Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively contribute to executing projects + Effective communication and presentation skills (verbal & written). Must be comfortable speaking with employees at all levels of the organization + Solid knowledge of contracts (design & construction), schedules, cost estimating and the design process + Working knowledge of SAP, SharePoint, Project Management Software is plus #LI-AS1 HP Materion Corporation and its subsidiaries (the “Company”) is an equal employment opportunity employer.
