Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer

will support the P/FP design team on projects in producing construction documents. Responsibilities include performing plumbing system load calculations; layout and sizing of piping systems; perform hydraulic calculations and equipment selections, as well as coordinating with architectural and structural building components.

Qualifications: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (AS/BSME). A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in mechanical systems design, specifically in sectors like healthcare, biotech, higher education, office buildings, large residential buildings, and hotels. Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, alongside competent use of MS Word and Excel. Experience in project design coordination is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards, including the Massachusetts State Plumbing Code, the fuel gas code, and NFPA standards (especially NFPA-13, 14). Additional Requirements: At least 5years of hands-on experience in the plumbing sector is mandatory for consideration in this role.
