NORTON HEALTHCARE SPORTS & LEARNING CENTER operated by ASM Global is a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor track and field facility on 24-acres in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, KY. It will house seating for 4,000 and will feature entertainment space with a bowling alley and an interactive rock-climbing wall, community green space and outdoor event space. The complex will host a variety of sporting events by organizations such as USA Track and Field, the NCAA, and local and regional public and private school and local track teams. In addition to sporting events, this venue will also offer community and entertainment events, all while providing a clean and safe environment and guaranteeing the ultimate guest experience and satisfaction.

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant plays an important role in the daily functions of the Finance Department. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to general accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis, event settlements, A/R and A/P processing, payroll processing, audit assistance, monthly/year-end close processing as well as other various functions. The staff accountant will work closely with the Sr. Director of Finance and assist with any projects as necessary.

Essential Functions:

+ Performs day-to-day accounting activities so that general ledger activity, trial balance, and key account reconciliations are adequately prepared and monitored. Processes daily cash deposits and reconciles cash transactions to the bank vs ledger, inputs journal entries.

+ Supports with the preparation and review of month/year end closings in order to adhere to tight deadlines.

+ Prepares settlement journal entries and reconcile ticket receipts per the general ledger vs ticketing audits.

+ Communicates effectively with vendors and customers in order to prepare A/P process in coordination with the corporate A/P team. Issues Purchases Orders if necessary.

+ Prepare audit schedules and supply support as requested by the audit team

+ Track expenses and revenues for each event and then provide each department with a budget vs actual variance after each event.

+ Coordinate A/P process with the corporate A/P team, including effective communication with vendors and customers

+ Responsible for the entire A/R procedures, including invoicing and collections.

+ Prepare Quarterly Financial Package of Account Reconciliations.

+ Works with department heads and finance team to manage budgets throughout the fiscal year.

+ Executes event settlements on event days as needed.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)

Area of Study: Finance/Account

Years of related work experience: 2+ years of experience preferred.

Must have advanced PC skills (MS Outlook, excel, word)

Strong attention to detail and high accuracy rate is a must.

Strong customer service and interact in a professional manner with various functions and levels within the organization.

Ability to work with minimal supervision while preserving the strict confidentiality of all data.

Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users.

Strong ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment and ability to multi-task on a daily basis.

Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the event schedule demands
