POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Work with the Technology Innovation team to develop and validate new thermal energy storage, heat rejection, and/or heat transfer technologies
  • Design and assemble small and/or medium scale test modules
  • Design and run small and/or medium scale performance and reliability testing equipment and procedures
  • Support development of numerical performance modeling tools based on the available data sets
  • Identify and qualify alternative design and materials of construction options
  • Support technology scale-up activities (e.g. product concept development, cost modeling...)
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, or Materials preferred)
  • Seniors or MS students preferred
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD required; experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required
  • Hands-on machining experience required
  • Working knowledge of design of experiments principles
  • Working knowledge of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and fluid dynamics
  • Proficient in Excel; advanced knowledge of Excel VBA, Matlab, or similar programming language preferred
