SUMMARY

: As the Pre-Construction Director specializing in the Utility Energy Storage market for Baker Electric, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our presence and influence in the UES sector. Your primary focus will be on strengthening relationships with current BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) customers, as well as establishing new connections with key market players. This role will involve a unique blend of business development, sales, technical expertise, and strategic vision to help drive our UES market growth and success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help to develop and execute a strategic plan to deepen relationships and be the preferred partner with existing BESS customers, which include developers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and EPC firms.
Identify and establish connections with new key players in the UES market, targeting approximately 5-10 high-potential clients.
Collaborate closely with the Pre-Construction/Ops teams to drive revenue growth and meet or exceed sales targets within the UES market segment.
Leverage your electrical technical knowledge to provide constructability support and conceptual engineering guidance for electrical balance of system (BOS) work to clients.
Engage with clients to understand their needs and goals, and present tailored solutions that align with their project requirements.
Ensure accurate budget estimates and cost projections for electrical BOS work, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability.
Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to establish partnerships and secure new projects.
Stay up-to-date with utility requirements, industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in the UES market to inform strategic decisions and client interactions.
Collaborate appropriately and effectively with internal and external teams, including engineering, project management, VDC, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution from pre-construction through completion.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering insights into project feasibility, technical challenges, and potential solutions.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in pre-construction management, sales, or business development within the Utility Energy Storage or renewable energy sector.
Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with clients and key market players.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, particularly related to Utility Energy Storage projects and electrical BOS work.
Familiarity with California energy regulations, codes, and permitting processes.
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or related degree and/or 5+ years of applicable electrical estimating, design or field management experience
Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM system
Proficient in MS Office (Word / PowerPoint)
Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
