As a Lead Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing automated, highly available, and elegant solutions for Big Data platforms focusing on Snowflake, Starburst/Trino/Presto, AWS Data Services and related products and technologies.

In general, you will be responsible for:
Implementation of roadmap, architecture, and integration of services of the Snowflake platform
Optimizing and automating day-to-day user administration repeatable tasks
Identifying product improvement opportunities by staying deeply involved in product sustainment, innovation, and customer feedback.
Enhancing and building user licensing and cost optimization solutions.
Fostering and developing relationships with business/technical stakeholders, providing thought leadership, and asserting influence by driving projects to completion effectively and efficiently.
Engaging and working collaboratively with partner teams across DPECP and TWDC in a manner that wins the trust and confidence of business and partner teams. Specifically:

o Understanding business needs and being able to translate them into clear and precise product specifications/features/capabilities to enable engineering development.

o Working with external technical partners and IA leaders to drive a prioritized development schedule, based on a complete and comprehensive understanding of business/technical needs and priorities.

o Driving consensus and getting buy-in from partner teams on the prioritization of engineering development activities.
Partnering and collaborating closely with the engineering team to:

o Ensure understanding of our business deliverables and lead design discussions that align appropriately.

o Effectively manage sprints by setting realistic development goals based on analyzing

historical velocity and ensuring that engineering development stays on track.

o Identify issues and risks and drive mitigation actions, effectively escalating

roadblocks as needed
Conducting market research and evaluation of COTS products. Fostering key industry and

academic partnerships according to the product roadmap.
Creating, executing, and maintaining well-defined technical support processes and

procedures for Data Warehouse and Query Federation products.
Drive engineering excellence through high availability, scalability, security, and automation.
Motivated self-continuous learning and innovation

Basic Qualifications
Expert level knowledge in the Snowflake Platform
Understanding of large Data Warehouse of such as Snowflake, Teradata, Redshift or BigQuery
Experience designing automated pipelines using AWS cloud technologies and data services
Excellent English skills as they will frequently speak to our customers.
Experience in database security architecture including row-level security, data encryption,

SSO, MFA (Multi Factor Authentication), etc.
Proficient Linux server operating system administration
Proficient in SQL
5+ years' experience writing SQL queries
2+ years in AWS cloud technology and data services
3+ years' experience in operating high availability systems
Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations
Comfortable with both technical and business responsibilities, you will be working with

engineers, data scientists, operations managers, and business masterminds to build

products and solve complex problems
Excellent verbal and written communication. Compelling storytelling and presentation skills.
A team player with vision, passion, discipline, and integrity
Ability to work rapidly and efficiently in a fast paced and changing environment

Preferred Qualifications
Experience administering a large-scale Data Warehouse
Experience with orchestration tools like UC4 and Airflow
Familiar with Query Federation solutions like Trino, Presto, Athena, and Starburst
Familiar with BI (Business Intelligence) consumption tools like Tableau, Business Objects, SAS,

and MicroStrategy
Skills in coding languages like Java and Python
Experience deploying AWS Infrastructure with Terraform or similar

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or related fields
