Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will coordinate and review the financial accounting work processes, and procedures for efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles. Accountable for financial reporting, budget and monitoring the financial health of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Works with the accounting manager to assign and evaluate the work processes of the accounting department regarding development or modification of financial and accounting systems.

Works with department managers to assist with on-going process reviews to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the operating processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly financial statement preparation and analysis income statement, balance sheet. Work with the accounting manager to prepare the necessary journal entries to close the books each month. Analyze the monthly results against balancing schedules and the budget and prior year to determine the accuracy of the monthly financial statements.
  • Monthly and annual cashflow projections and analysis to manage the companys investment and line-of-credit activities. Working with other departments to develop assumptions used in the forecast and analyze differences in actual results.
  • Work with Executive Management to develop and analyze the financial reports for their requirements and for the Board of Directors.
  • Work with the accounting manager in the preparation of necessary schedules required for the annual financial statement compilation and communication with the outside accounting firm to accomplish this in a timely manner.
  • The main point of contact with the outside accounting firm in preparation and filing of any federal, state, and local tax returns and estimated tax payments.
  • Work with Executive and other department management to develop and prepare the annual budget/forecast and a 5-year forecast.
  • Work with Executive management to develop and report the corporate level ISO measurements and goals.
  • Main company administrator responsible for the proper administration of the employee stock ownership plan. This requires collaboration with the ESOP trustee and company management to prepare analysis of company contribution scenarios for current and future periods.Work with the third-party administrator to process current year contributions and distributions from the Plan.
  • Assist with the analysis and decisions on the general insurance for the company and health insurance offered to employees.
  • Sales and Use tax administration and required filings.
  • Work with Executive management and the ESOP trustee to gather information required by the independent appraiser for the annual valuation of company stock.
  • Work with Executive and HR management to review and calculate the company bonus program.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Master of Business Administration optional.
  • CPA or CGMA optional.
  • 10+ years experience as an accountant, auditor, analyst or similar experience.

  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Thorough understanding of internal accounting controls.
  • Thorough understanding of project management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment across all departments to improve company performance.
