The Yale Child Study Center is seeking a part time (.2 FTE) Medical Director to join the Leadership Team of Intensive In- Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric (IICAPS) Model Development and Operations (MDO), formerly IICAPS Services. IICAPS MDO provides quality assurance and quality improvement, including data collection, data analysis, research, staff training and program development and implementation for IICAPS Network, a state-wide, multi-site, structured mental health intervention for children, adolescents and families funded by Medicaid and commercial insurers.Individuals interested in applying for the medical director role should submit their curriculum vita in Yale format and vision statement. Applicants are asked to submit a separate document that addresses the following:Recognizing that the IICAPS model is uniquely designed to address the needs of families and youth with complex needs, straddling acute mental health issues, childhood trauma, poverty, and psychosocial disenfranchisement across generations, what are the themes and or activities that you would envision including in a training curriculum for medical directors and prescribers across the network and why? Please also describe how you may leverage relationships with key stakeholders to elevate IICAPS sustainability and visibility within and outside of Connecticut.In an effort to eliminate bias in the selection process we ask that this vision statement be deidentified and be limited to 500 words. Interested Parties should submit Curriculum Vitae and vision statement to YaleChildStudy.ClinicianPositions@yale.edu.The Medical Director: Must be a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist Participates in weekly IICAPS MDO meeting with Co-Directors and IICAPS Network Data Manager. As part of the IICAPS MDO leadership team, is an active participant in quarterly IICAPS Network meetings As part of the IICAPS MDO leadership team, designs and implements training for IICAPS child psychiatrists to assure model fidelity and promote high level clinical care Organizes and leads annual consultation with IICAPS Medical Directors Attends monthly consults as needed with IICAPS sites around developmental approach to evaluation, treatment, medication management and psychopharmacology of children and youth with complex trauma Partners with the Co-Directors around the process of site-specific credentialing, including rounds observations, chart reviews, meetings with staff, meetings with leadership, and the completion of written credentialling feedback Provides medico-legal oversight and is responsible for insuring that IICAPS administrative and clinical procedures are in compliance with state/federal law, with standards of practice for child and adolescent psychiatry and medical necessity as defined by Connecticut Medicaid regulations for delivery of IICAPS Has a strong understanding of the impact of various neurodevelopmental/neuropsychiatric disorders including Autism, intellectual disabilities, TS/OCD, various medical disorders In conjunction with the Co-Directors, may represents IICAPS MDO in discussions with IICAPS Network agencies, Yale School of Medicine, Yale New Haven Health System, State partners such as DCF, DSS and other funding and regulatory and funding entities In conjunction with the Co-Directors, may participate in implementing consulting contracts with other Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) programs to train in use of IICAPS Tools and other structures May represent IICAPS in local, national, and international conferences May choose to attend and contribute to weekly IICAPS Research meeting May choose to contribute to IICAPS Research Groups efforts in manuscript developmentExperience/QualificationsRequired Experience and Experience: Board certification in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Experience leading clinical efforts: Rounds groups, other clinical program leadership Two years, or more, clinical practice experience as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Experience supervising individuals and/or teams Experienced public speaker Familiarity with systems that serve children and youthStrongly Desired Experience/Qualifications Strong interest and working knowledge of attachment, mentalization, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma Experience and familiarity with IICAPS model and practice Experience teaching/training groupsJob Type: Part-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceVision insuranceAbility to Relocate:New Haven, CT 06511: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
