Job Summary

Ensure cleanliness of designated areas.

Essential Functions

  • Cleaning of plant areas. Includes sweeping, wet and dry cleaning of walls, floors, pipes, etc
  • Cleaning of rest rooms, office, lab, break room, and other assigned areas at the Richfield Plant
  • Keep stations supplied with soap and paper products
  • Remove garbage and trash from assigned areas
  • Clean pipes/walls, etc in plant as assigned
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices
  • Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices
  • Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
  • Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must be familiar with general cleaning procedures and handling of cleaning products
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant
  • Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
