About the Role

The Dev/Ops Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the team of Software Developers. They are tasked with designing and developing custom software solutions to best meet HOPE's needs, as those needs pertain to the individual departments, working within the HOPE Technology framework.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Software Developers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to create custom software solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to create custom systems integrations.Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in software coding.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and the Dev team, communicating goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources and workload distribution within the team to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate standards.
  • Handle escalated issues and resolve conflicts within the team or with external stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess and improve coding procedures and workflows to streamline operations and reduce errors.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Represent the Dev/Ops team in meetings, presentations, and negotiations with clients, vendors, and other departments.
Competencies/Skills
  • High School or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent years of experience as a bachelor's degree will be considered.
  • 5-7 years of experience in software development or related roles.
  • 2 years of which include supervisory/management/region management position(s) with multiple direct reports.
  • Advanced knowledge of coding standards, team coding frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing a wide range of coding work to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Proven track record of meticulously managing code repositories, project timeline.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy, with the ability to catch errors or inconsistencies in coding projects and resolve them promptly to prevent delays or legal issues.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including the capacity to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and external stakeholders, and address their inquiries or concerns with clarity and professionalism.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, including the ability to mentor and motivate team members, delegate tasks efficiently, and foster a collaborative work environment that promotes productivity and teamwork.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges or obstacles that may arise during the coding process, such as project creep, developing project scope, and find effective solutions to ensure successful project launches.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools used in software development environments, to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Customer-centric approach with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the software development lifecycle process, including promptly addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Work Environment
  • Employee spends much of the time in the office environment, generally accessible to internal colleagues and external customers
