The selected physician will be providing general gynecology and obstetrical care to patients across Philadelphia at one or more of Temple University Hospital campuses and outpatient facilities. In addition, successful candidates will actively participate in the education and training of medical students and residents, including clinical and didactic teaching along with appropriate supervision. Our department provides 24/7 in-house coverage with two in-house attendings and most overnight calls covered by our laborist team. Our limited call-schedule with post-call day off, competitive salary, and generous benefits, vacation, and commitment to work-life balance provides a supportive team-working environment.


Our collegial generalist group works closely with our specialist divisions to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Our faculty share in their steadfast commitment to addressing the systemic, social, and health disparities in our community through direct patient care, community engagement, quality improvement, advocacy, and grant funding. Temple University Hospital (TUH) is an 879-bed tertiary- and quaternary-level acute care hospital. TUH-Main is in the same campus as the School of Medicine. TUH is a high volume urban medical center, with over 338,000 outpatient visits and over 2,000 births annually. The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences employs approximately 30 MDs or MD/PhDs, plus supporting administrative, nursing and research staff. There are five clinical divisions including General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynecologic Oncology. The department supports 25 residents.

Temples steadfast dedication to the comprehensive care of womens health throughout their reproductive journey is made evident by the development of the new TUH - Women & Families campus located just 3 miles from the main hospital. This facility will include 13 labor and delivery rooms, thirty-six private post-partum rooms, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit with 41 bassinettes, as well as six operating rooms and an intensive care unit. There will be a fetal testing center and 50 examining rooms in the outpatient area where breast health, bone health, behavioral health, primary and specialty care will be provided in addition to Ob/Gyn. Diagnostic and interventional radiology, pharmacy, blood bank, and laboratory services will be provided on site.

Candidate Qualifications

  • MD, DO or Foreign Equivalent
  • Board certified or active candidate in OB/Gyn required
  • Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or above
  • Eligibility to receive an unrestricted medical license and DEA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment
  • Must possess outstanding clinical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other health care providers and support staff
