Responsibilities Howmet Aerospace is currently seeking a strong Segment Financial Analyst with high energy and drive to join our Howmet Engines - Structural segment Finance team, based out of our Winsted, CT location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Derive business insights from financial and operational analysis and synthesize into high impact, targeted recommendations and presentations to support decision-making.
- Review monthly actual, forecast, and plan performance; understand deviations from both forecast and plan to provide insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional peers to prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for senior management, including schedules, performance tables and bridge analyses.
- Assist sub-segment Controller with month-end closing activities, including coordination of closing entries and account reconciliations.
- Critically evaluate Howmet Engine's capital portfolio and individual project proposals
- Track execution of cost savings projects and coordinate reporting.
- Lead process improvement projects to achieve world-class performance across Howmet Engine Products operations
- Support financial forecasts preparation and development process utilizing Hyperion.
- Consolidate weekly close data and providing a month-to-date view of financial results and monthly projections to Howmet Engines leadership, allowing for countermeasures to be deployed.
- Analysis of plant spending and monitoring spend management systems.
- Financial analysis and process development for special projects, as required.
- Completion of internal audit requirements for internal controls, as required.
- Assistance with Peer Review activity across Howmet Engines, as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Three (3) or more years of combined experience in finance/accounting and manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
- Cost accounting experience highly desired
- Previous internal audit experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- MBA, CMA and / or CPA highly desired
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in both written and oral form
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience with querying databases
- Excellent analytical skills
