Overview:

The NDE Operations organization at TIGHITCO is an inclusive, inter-disciplinary team that is committed to the providing high quality inspections of flight components and production assemblies. The responsibility as an NDE Level II Inspector is immense, as the organization is responsible for a large diversity of inspection Types across multiple Platforms in the Aerospace and defense industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Set-up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests with appropriate NDT Technique; interpret, evaluate, and document results.
  • Familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified (UT) and capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel.
  • Familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the NDT techniques
  • Perform ultrasonic inspection on composite materials, specifically carbon fiber and honeycomb core.
  • Perform volumetric NDE inspections with longitudinal wave with hand scan techniques.
  • Interpret, evaluate, communicate and report findings to production and engineering teams.
  • Support the development of NDE inspections techniques for complex geometries.
  • Support RND for future ultrasonic technology for operational improvements.
  • Assist in cross training and multiple areas in work environment.
  • Composite inspection experience
  • Current equipment familiarity, Epoch 650 / Omniscan / Kuka 7 Axis Robot.
Qualifications:
  • Composite inspection Experience
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required"
  • NDE Level II certification in line with ASNT-TC-1A OR NAS410.
  • Complete necessary on the job training hours to proceed to Level II without level I certification.
  • Attain Level II certification in a reasonable amount of time.
  • The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals.
  • Ability to read and write in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work instructions, technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to effectively present and report non-conformances and findings onto applicable documents.
  • Be able to provide prior certifications and Hours.

Education and/or Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
