*MUST BE WILLING TO GO ONSITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK*Job Title: Control EngineersLength: 6 month contract potential to be extended/permPay Rate: $75-80/hour (flex depending on candidate)Start: ASAPWork Auth: USCLocation: 5 days a week onsite at the Austin GigafactoryJob dutiesRamp manufacturing lines including mechanical automation equipment, robots, electromechanical systems, PLCs, motion controls, and vision systemsProgram state machines for complex processes which involve multi-station parallel processing, pick and place automation, data acquisition, and PID controlManage Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA), implementing controls reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipmentDefine and manage a methodology for maintaining PLC code structure and backupsDesign robust, stable, fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recoveryTrain technicians on the maintenance and repair of your controls systemsManage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbingInterface with the Tesla Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to communicate product acceptability, machine status, and process variablesSpearhead your own continuous improvement efforts in the endeavor to create the most reliable and efficient cell manifesting plant everSkillsetAS or BS Degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent Majors in: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation engineering, etc.)5+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing controls Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systemsAdvanced proficiency in programming industrial equipment in all IEC 61131-3 languages with a focus on structured text and ladder logicExperience with Automated WarehousingExperience implementing and maintaining a databaseExperience with Beckhoff, Omron, Siemens, B&R, and/or MitsubishiSafety PLCs (Allen Bradley, Omron, Pilz, Siemens, B&R, etc.)Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI - AB Panelview, Ignition, TIA/WinCC, B&R, etc.)Field bus Networks (EtherCAT, ProfiNet, ProfiBud, Modbus, Powerlink, RS232, etc.) and OPC UAPLCs, SCADA, MES, and other systemsProficiency in selecting/ integrating appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD, and servo systemsPreferred experience in programming Cartesian, SCARA and Articulated robots (Fanuc, Kuka, etc)Preferred experience with Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc)Preferred experience with semi-automated / automated manufacturing equipmentCompensation :$70/hr to $80/hr.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
