CYNWAVE Solutions, LLC seeks a Transportation Manager responsible for managing all transportation operations under the contract. This position requires a strong leader with extensive knowledge of DoD transportation regulations, logistics, and supply chain management. The Transportation Manager oversees the movement of personnel, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation support to meet mission requirements while complying with DoD standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory guidelines. This position is contingent upon contract award. Daily activities may include: Transportation Operations Management: Plan, direct, and oversee all transportation operations, including moving personnel, equipment, and supplies supporting the contract. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transportation activities in accordance with regulations, Department of Defense (DoD) directives, and company policies. Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance, supply, and logistics, to ensure seamless integration and support of transportation requirements. Fleet Management: Oversee the vehicle fleet's management, maintenance, and utilization to ensure optimal availability, reliability, and compliance with standards. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are properly serviced, repaired, and inspected. Monitor and manage vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and operational costs to optimize efficiency and reduce expenses. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and DoD transportation policies. Ensure compliance with hazardous material (HAZMAT) handling, transportation security, and safety regulations. Prepare for and lead internal and external inspections, audits, and evaluations to ensure all transportation activities meet contractual and regulatory requirements. Safety and Risk Management: Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies to minimize risks and ensure the safe operation of all transportation activities. Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and drills to reinforce safety protocols and emergency response procedures. Investigate transportation-related incidents, accidents, and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of drivers, dispatchers, transportation coordinators, and support personnel to ensure high-quality transportation services. Develop staffing plans, conduct performance evaluations, and manage employee development through training, coaching, and mentoring. Foster a safety culture, accountability, and continuous improvement within the transportation department. Logistics and Coordination: Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and external partners to coordinate transportation schedules, routes, and load planning to support mission requirements. Develop and manage transportation plans, schedules, and routes to optimize efficiency and meet customer expectations. Ensure effective communication and coordination with military and civilian agencies to facilitate smooth transportation operations. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all transportation activities, including vehicle inspections, maintenance logs, trip reports, driver logs, and compliance documentation. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on transportation performance, safety metrics, and operational readiness. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance transportation efficiency and effectiveness. Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging transportation and logistics management regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; equivalent military or technical experience may be considered. Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management, preferably within military, defense, or logistics environments. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role. Previous experience with DoD contracts or similar logistics and maintenance programs is highly desirable. Certifications: Certified Transportation Professional (CTP), Commercial Driver's License (CDL), HAZMAT Certification, or equivalent certification preferred. Valid driver's license required. Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of DoD transportation operations, policies, and procedures. Demonstrated experience in managing large fleets, transportation scheduling, and load planning. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Proficient in transportation management software, logistics software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and noise. Ability to travel to various work sites for inspections, audits, and coordination as needed. Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
