NE10 Conference Intern

Intended to develop future leaders in athletic administration, the Northeast-10 Conference is now accepting applications for the position of Conference Intern with a strong focus on the area of strategic communications. The position will involve 20 hours per week of work.

The NCAA DII strategic plan includes supporting the importance, value and benefits of establishing and maintaining an inclusive culture for student-athletes and career opportunities for coaches/administrators from diverse backgrounds. As a DII member, the NE10 supports these same values.

The position will have involvement in most aspects of Conference administration.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • Strategic Communications includingNE10 Player of the Week responsibilities for select sports where intern will review nominations submitted by institutions, create reports on the NE10 website and design graphics for the website and on social media;
  • Assist the Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Media with Plays of the Week videos and any other media content, as needed;
  • Oversee the NE10 All-Conference award process for select sports;
  • Assist with maintenance of appropriate web-only materials, such as championship central pages and record books;
  • Assist in the NE10 Academic Awards program, including but not limited to Academic Honor Roll, Academic All-Conference and Sport Excellence Awards on a seasonal basis;
  • Serve in a supporting role in the administration of Conference championships, including event set-up, photography, social media updates and event breakdown;
  • NE10 Strategic Plan initiative support and tracking ;
  • Communication with NE10 Student Athlete Advisory Council;
  • Conference Officiating projects;
  • Special Research projects.


Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in athletic administration, possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and display a high level of professionalism.

Stipend is $1,500 per month. This position is not eligible for additional employment benefits. The successful candidate can work at the Conference office headquarters in Mansfield, Mass. but a hybrid/remote work environment is available as well. Start date is August 15, 2024. The internship concludes May 15, 2025. The successful candidate is expected to work no less than 20 hours per week but flexibility exists with regard to exact schedule. Travel as needed for Conference events and championships will likely be outside the 20-hour expectations for the work week and will be compensated separately.
