With this priority, we are adding a new role a Manager of Compensation to assess and evolve our compensation practice. To be the head of compensation and implement new practices that create a current, effective and an organized function.

About the opportunity:

The Manager will serve as the function leader and go-to SME responsible for the development and implementation of an upgraded compensation practice to reflect current marketplace trends and company goals.

In a highly visible role, the Manager will interact with all levels of the company to advise and provide insights on market trends and pay for performance solutions. In a hands-on one-person-band role, the Manager will ideate and do all activities from initial concept through final delivery.

Heres what youll do:

Advisor:

Subject Matter Expert:

  • Design, implement, drive and manage and execute the up-leveling of the compensation function
  • Act as an internal consultant and expert; advise and influence business stakeholders in best practices compensation programs and internal equity
  • Partner with HRBP and Talent Acquisition to support business leaders on new hire

Philosophy and Policy:

  • Support company executives in evolving existing practices, educate on modern trends and help support their thinking and analysis to determine refreshed models based on current marketplace and company values
  • Create new philosophy and policy and communication materials

Evaluator and Creator:

Job Descriptions:

  • Review, assess and validate all active positions job descriptions to determine if content is current and accurately coded inclusive of FSLA and other classifications
  • For outdated job descriptions, work directly with job supervisor to update to a current job description with correct classifications

Job Leveling and Compensation Bands:

  • Review, assess and validate all active positions to determine if each is appropriately categorized
  • Review, assess and validate if compensations bands are reflective of current marketplace trends

Administrator:

Compensation:

  • Create and implement administration practices to ensure equitable, competitive compensation practice aligned with company objectives
  • Develop, implement, and manage salary ranges and bonus structures for all employees, corporate and labor employees, including sales staff; assist with executive compensation.
  • Lead and drive company-wide annual performance review process for merit increases
  • Ensure program and policies are compliant with local laws and regulations
  • Management of all weekly, monthly, annual and ongoing maintenance of all program activities

  • Deep Understanding of Compensation: confidence in understanding of compensation practices, including market trends, salary bands, internal equity, pay-for-performance strategies, legal compliance and best practices for an efficient & effective function
  • Leadership Driver; bar-raiser approach, quest for high performance, initiator and self-driver to build the function with low oversight
  • Communicator; skilled at conveying compensation concepts with clarity, facilitating discussions for understanding and high-touch communicator for stakeholders
  • Detailed Reviewer; capacity to review and assess a high volume of documentation validating precise details for accuracy and completeness
  • Program Manager; ability to own and drive a full services compensation function for a medium size company; strong project management and ability to manage multiple work streams with ease
  • Data and analytical mindset; comfort with high volume of data details
  • Ability to create reports and extract meaningful data from various platforms
  • Strategic thinker with a tactical approach
  • Flexible, collaborative, and adaptable to a shifting work environment
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations; filing and compliance requirements
  • Advanced level of Excel including pivot tables, v-lookups and formulas required
  • Advanced proficiency in HRIS, prefer ADP Workforce Now, and compensation management tools like Payfactors
  • Knowledge of sales incentives, including bonus and commission plans
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Prefer minimum seven+ years of compensation experience

  • Annual base compensation range between 120,000.00 To 150,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from this range
