Abraxas Academy is located minutes off of Exit 298 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Berks County and provides detention and treatment services for court committed youth.

Salary: $20.00 Hourly

Summary:

This position performs all the custodial duties associated with the cleanliness of the facility and maintenance of the grounds.

Essential Functions:

• Performs routine custodial duties in the facility such as, cleaning kitchens, restrooms, residential areas, emptying the trash bins, and stocking paper supplies.
• Responsible for floor care throughout the facility. This includes cleaning the carpet and mopping, waxing, and polishing the tile floors.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks as directed.
• Works safely and reports safety violations and fire hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Supervise clients to ensure safety and security of clients and manage client behavior.
• Cuts grass, trims hedges, shovels snow, sweeps and cleans walkways, and keeps the outside premises in orderly condition.
• Moves furniture and equipment, delivers supplies, and run errands.
• Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; prior experience preferred.

Other Qualifications:

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license in employee's state of residence.
• Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
• Physical exam, drug screen, TB test.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
