On a day-to-day basis, Credit Portfolio Associates use their mathematical and fixed income training to actively monitor portfolios and markets to assist Portfolio Managers in measuring risk and managing client assets. Credit Portfolio Associates are routinely encouraged to provide creative solutions and develop key tools and reporting methods to support the Portfolio Management team.Location: Newport Beach, CARESPONSIBILITIES Ensuring investment objectives are reflected across portfolios in scopeMonitoring portfolio positions and products versus client guidelines in concert with Compliance teamCoordinating with Portfolio Management on re-balancing of portfoliosUtilizing proprietary risk systems for monitoring of portfolio exposuresAssisting in account transitions and cash flow managementSupporting Credit Desk including four Managing Director PMsTrade Flow order managementHi volume trading desk at the firmMultiple strategies across credit for the firmResponding to ad hoc requests from the Portfolio Management teamREQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with an emphasis in Economics, Business, Engineering or Mathematics or a related field1-3 years equivalent work experience in the investment management or securities industryDeep understanding of fixed income including knowledge of most cash and derivative instrumentsStrong process-oriented background and organizational skillsExceptional communication skills are required to operate in a complex financial and mathematical environmentExcel power user criticalOutstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast-paced and time-critical environmentPOSITION DEVELOPMENT VALUESExtensive exposure to industry experts within Portfolio Management and across other functional areas of the firmA broad range of opportunities to collaborate with talented colleaguesLearning environment focused on key buy-side portfolio risk and return principlesConstructive feedback to foster career growth in addition to a formal annual review processBENEFITSPIMCO is committed to offering a comprehensive portfolio of employee benefits designed to support the health and wellbeing of you and your family. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors.
