Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required Essential Functions: Develops, coordinates, and delivers education programs to enhance the clinical competencies of nurses and other clinicians. Creates, revises, and evaluates educational materials, curricula, and instructional methodologies based on organizational objectives and evidence-based practices. Facilitates orientation, onboarding, and training programs for new hires, including nurses and other clinical staff. Conducts workshops, in-service sessions, and continuing education programs to support staff development and regulatory compliance.

Designs and implements processes to assess, validate, and document clinical competencies for nursing and clinical staff. Collaborates with unit leaders and preceptors to ensure competency-based performance appraisals align with organizational and regulatory standards. Monitors and evaluates clinical staff performance and competency attainment through observation, simulation, and outcome-based metrics.

Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal regulations, including Joint Commission standards, to ensure compliance in all clinical education programs. Serves as a subject matter expert on clinical practices, providing guidance on regulatory updates, clinical policies, and procedures. Leads initiatives to integrate evidence-based practices into clinical workflows and education programs.

Collaborates with clinical managers and leaders to identify knowledge gaps and training needs, aligning educational initiatives with strategic goals. Serves as a mentor and resource for clinical staff, fostering a supportive learning environment. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in tailoring educational interventions to address complex clinical challenges and organizational priorities. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and strategic planning to enhance patient care outcomes and staff development.
