Job Summary and Qualifications

Terre Haute Regional Hospital (THRH) is seeking a self-motivate and compassionate RN who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to join our amazing PACU unit. Previous PACU experience preferred. In this role, you would will manage the nursing care of patients recovering from Endoscopy, Surgical, Cath Lab and Radiology procedures and assist anesthesia providers with Regional Blocks in accordance with the ASPAN and AORN Perioperative standards and recommended practices. · You will provide age and culturally appropriate post procedure patient care for General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ear/Nose/Throat Surgery, Cataract Surgery, Podiatric Surgery, Endoscopic procedures, Pain Management Procedure, Cardiac Catheterization Procedure, Cardiac Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urological Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecological
· As a member of the OP Surgery Team, you will assist anesthesia providers with Regional Blocks on surgical patients in PACU, performs blood transfusion procedures and perform techniques for specimen collection, labeling, ordering, and documenting.
· Some other key job duties include assisting anesthesia provider with induction, intubation, extubation, line insertion as needed and performing initial and ongoing patient assessment,, educating patients and documenting care.
· You will also be providing support for new staff and students through mentoring and orientation.

Requirements
· Current Indiana licensure as a registered nurse
· Current certification in Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider, PALS and ACLS maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
· Attainment of certification in Acute Care Life Support Healthcare Provider within 90 days of employment
· Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
· Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
· Willingness to participate in unit and hospital wide committees
