Job Description

We are seeking highly qualified Khmer Translators/Linguists to support our National Security Programs.

About the Job

The linguist will perform a full range of activities in processing materials or participating in situations requiring a general professional capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Able to accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and abstract language.
  • Capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text.
  • Operate in a subject field with strong word choice and expression adhering to target language norms.
Additional Requirements:
  • Able to interpret accurately, with consecutive interpretation being the primary requirement.
  • Excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.
  • Ability to identify and summarize factual points as well as abstract concepts.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, to produce written translations and products.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and equivalent formal military training. 8+ years of related work experience.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience deployed as a linguist supporting contingency operations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, law enforcement experience.
  • Linguists who are proficient in multiple languages are strongly desired.
Security Clearance:

No clearance is required to apply, but TS/SCI with polygraph is required for the position.

Location:

Position is located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area (WMA).
