Key Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a minimum of a B.S.
  • Current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Personal computer skills and proficiency in Windows-based programs needed for department functions
Essential Duties
  1. Evaluate patients based on departmental standards
  2. Conduct and modify evaluations based on patient symptoms, activity level, and medical status
  3. Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals for each patient
  4. Administer physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to relieve pain and attain established goals
  5. Educate patients and families in home exercise programs and functional activities
  6. Determine when patients have achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommend discharge if appropriate
  7. Document patient information accurately and consistently
  8. Foster interdepartmental communication and communicate with referring physicians regarding patient care
  9. Accurately fill out and submit charges daily
  10. Adhere to professional codes of ethics and facility policies at all times
  11. Perform duties with proper body mechanics and safety precautions
  12. Supervise affiliated students and attend continuing education courses to improve treatment techniques
  13. Participate in departmental and community in-services
