Key Responsibilities:
A. Program Development:
1. Craft individualized and group sports programs that cater specifically to the varying abilities and interests of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aiming to enhance motor skills, encourage positive social interactions, and foster desirable behavior.

2. Ensure all activities are accessible and adaptable, enabling participation from individuals with diverse needs and abilities. Incorporate a range of sports and physical activities that promote both fine and gross motor skill development.

3. Set clear, measurable objectives for each program component, aligning with the overall therapeutic goals for each participant, including improvements in coordination, strength, endurance, and team participation.

B. Integrated Strategies:
1. Participate in case conferences and team meetings to ensure sports and physical activity programs are harmoniously integrated with other therapeutic goals, providing a comprehensive support plan.

2. Feedback and Adjustments: Regularly share insights and progress reports with the broader therapy team, incorporating feedback into the sports program to better meet the therapeutic needs of participants.

3. Use engaging methods to connect with individuals, employing strategies such as games, sports storytelling, and demonstrations to spark interest and participation.

4. Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness, participant engagement, and individual progress using both quantitative and qualitative measures.

5. Quickly adapt and modify programs in response to participant feedback, assessments, and evolving needs, ensuring the activities remain challenging yet achievable.

C. Education and Training:
1. Lead workshops and training sessions for staff, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively support the sports program and understand its therapeutic value.

2. Provide guidance and resources for families and caregivers on how to extend sports and physical activities into the home environment, emphasizing the role of physical activity in managing behaviors and fostering development.

3. Develop and distribute educational materials that highlight the benefits of physical activity for individuals with ASD, including tips, strategies, and success stories.

4. Model best practices in sports education and therapy for ASD, setting a high standard for program delivery and staff interaction.

D. Advocacy and Awareness:
1. Actively engage with the local and broader community to raise awareness about the importance of sports and physical activity in the development of individuals with ASD.

2. Build relationships with local sports clubs, schools, and other organizations to create more

opportunities for participants and promote inclusion.

3. Lead and participate in awareness campaigns and events that highlight the success of the sports program and its participants, fostering a more inclusive and understanding community

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical, Physical Education, Sports Science, Psychology, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Proven leadership experience in sports, particularly leading sport program

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.

Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience leading a team or program.
