etc.; Creates, maintains, and schedules work order appointments for various
utility functions including but not limited to water meter reads. water meter
replacements, shutoff valve replacements, and leak detections; May be
required to assist other Finance divisions with cash receipting, deposit
creation/reconciiiation, front counter staffing, switchboard functions, in
person or telephone customer service, etc.; Performs other work-related
duties, as assigned.

Required High school diploma or equivalent required; Minimum of two years'
Education, experience in office environment, preferably in finance and/or utility billing;
Experience, and Previous accounting/clencal experience preferred, with a good
Knowledge: understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable concepts,

especially with utility billing; Wil consider any combination of education and
experience, as outlined above; Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
Attention to detail is critical; Must be able to maintain strict confidentiaiity;
Must be able to read and write English, bi-lingual skills helpful; Must
exercise good judgement in ali matters; Must be familiar with Microsoft

JOB IDENTIFICATION

Position Title: ACCOUNTING CLERK (FT)

Salary Range: A 137

FLSA: Non-exempt

Department; Finance Department

Division: Water Billing

Reports to: Revenue Manager

Supervises: None

JOfi PURPOSE

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for performing various data entry and
customer service functions for the Water Billing division.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform data entry functions including cash receipt entry, meter read uploads, work

orders, etc. relating to utility accounts and customers
- Assist utility customers with account and billing questions and issues
- Creates, maintains, and schedules work order appointments for various utility functions

including but not limited to reads, meter replacements, shutoff valve replacements, leak
detections, etc.
- Prepare and issue necessary invoices for billed work related to utility biiiing
- Filing various forms including work orders, meter readings, invoices, etc.
- Assist citizens with water billing questions

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- May be required to assist other Finance divisions with cash receipting, deposit

creation/recondiiation, front counter staffing, switchboard functions, in person or telephone

KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS /ABILITIES

Outlook; experience with BS&A municipal software a pius
- Must be able to safely operate various office and computer equipment including mail

openers, automated postage meters, mail folding/inserting machines, meter reading
equipment, etc.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable concepts, especially

in a utiiity billing environment
- Abiiity to follow al safety rules and regulations of the Village

EDUCATION I TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years' experience in office environment, preferably in finance and/or utility

billing; Previous accounting/clerical experience preferred
- Wil consider any combination of education and experience, as outlined above.
