**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform alterations, repairs, and custom fittings on a variety of garments including clothing, curtains, and linens.
- Take accurate measurements and consult with clients to understand their specific needs and preferences.
- Interpret and follow sewing patterns, designs, and instructions to produce high-quality finished products.
- Operate and maintain sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with designers, stylists, and other team members to ensure the timely completion of sewing projects.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make any necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used on each project.
- Stay updated on current fashion trends, techniques, and technologies related to sewing and tailoring.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, or similar role.
- Proficiency in operating sewing machines, sergers, and other sewing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, fabrics, and garment construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
- Vocational training or certification in sewing or tailoring is a plus.
This is a contractor position. You get 50% of each project. Flexible hours. Most sewing equipment and supplies provided.
**Job Type**: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
