### Job Description: High-Complexity Laboratory Technician

The High-Complexity Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of high-complexity molecular laboratory techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, QPCR, data analysis, and high-complexity blood processing. In this role, the High-Complexity Laboratory Technician will handle sensitive equipment to analyze specimens, conduct tests, and report findings to the laboratory manager.

Individuals with experience in the technical laboratory field who describe themselves as flexible with dynamic priorities and passionate about patient care will flourish here.

### RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently and accurately perform routine and complex molecular testing, including high-complexity blood processing, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis using various laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Conduct high-complexity blood processing tasks such as blood fractionation, cell separation, and plasma/serum preparation.
- Review, record, and release specimen test results from the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Compile and maintain records to ensure state and federal regulations are upheld for all reagents, procedures, and equipment used in the testing process.
- Ensure adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety and procedural guidelines.
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control procedures, documenting all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
- Maintain records demonstrating proper handling and reporting of proficiency specimens.
- Execute and adhere to all safety protocols, including handling hazardous biological agents and chemicals, potentially hazardous chemicals, hazard clean-up, universal precautions, and infection control procedures.
- Assist in the development, validation, and implementation of new laboratory methods and services.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and brainstorm improvements to laboratory processes.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Sciences field (biology, chemistry, medical technology, etc.).
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in working with standard and high-complexity laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Experience in high-complexity blood processing techniques.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow protocols and instructions accurately.
- Outstanding attention to detail.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
