Shop Helper

**Position Summary**

A General Helper is responsible for aiding and support in various tasks and functions within H+M's Fabrication Shop under the direction of the Fabrication Shop Supervisor. This role involves performing a wide range of general duties described below. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Perform various physical tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
- Clean the shop and yard by removing debris and unused materials.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with pipe cutting and passivation.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications & Work Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically fit to perform the required tasks, which may involve lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Minimum of 1-2 Years of experience in a similar role

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Basic understanding of common tools and equipment used in various tasks.
- Good understanding of safety protocols and guidelines.
- Must have knowledge of proper lifting techniques, personal protective equipment (PPE), and general safety precautions.
- Must be aware of potential hazards and following safety procedures helps to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ability to understand instructions given by supervisors or team members and ask for clarification when needed.
- Good physical stamina that allows them to complete tasks effectively and without excessive fatigue.
- Basic time management skills to prioritize tasks, organize their workload, and meet deadlines.
- Basic problem-solving skills that allow them to identify issues, propose solutions, and make necessary adjustments.
- Willingness to learn and improve their skills.

**Physical Requirements**
- The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The team member will be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
