**Job Title: Seasonal Day Porter / Janitor**
Duration: June 17, 2024 - August 16, 2024
Location**:JCC Day Camps**, 360 Amity Rd., Woodbridge, CT 06525
Job Overview: The seasonal day porter / janitor will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards at our summer camp facilities. This position is vital for ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for campers, staff, and visitors throughout the summer season.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Cleaning and Sanitization: Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain cleanliness in all indoor and outdoor areas of the camp facilities, including cabins, restrooms, dining halls, and recreational areas.
2. Trash Removal: Regularly empty trash bins and recycling containers, ensuring proper disposal and adherence to waste management guidelines.
3. Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize restrooms multiple times per day to ensure hygiene standards are met. Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer as needed.
4. Groundskeeping: Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas by picking up litter, removing debris, and keeping walkways clear and safe for campers and staff.
5. Assistance with Special Events: Provide support during special events or activities by setting up and cleaning up event spaces as needed.
6. Reporting Maintenance Issues: Identify and report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor for prompt resolution.
7. Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
**Qualifications**:
**-Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work required.**
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a background check
Schedule:
**-This is a seasonal position running from June 17, 2024, to August 16, 2024.**
- 2 positions with a work schedule of Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.
- 1 position with a work schedule of Monday thru Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Notes:
- This position is for 3 openings.
- Compensation also includes a free 1 year basic membership to the JCC Facilities.
