Assistant Teacher Fall 2024

We are looking for a dedicated and responsible workers to assist in the our classrooms. We are looking for both morning (7am - 12pm) and afternoon (12 pm - 6:00 pm) workers. Scheduling is flexible.
We will provide all work trainings, background check, finger printing, and CPR/First Aid training that are required for the job.
Must be a student of Andrews University.
**Qualifications summary**:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma.
- High engery
- Accuracy, common sense and efficiency is required
- Must love children.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Provide basic needs for children
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
- Use various leaning methods such as stories, games and drawing to intellectually stimulate children.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
- Work with young children to teach basic skills such as colors, letter and number recognition, shapes, social skills and personal hygiene
- Manage activities, imaginative play, bathroom breaks, meals and rest time
- Introduce children to new age-appropriate hobbies
- Clean and sanitize all toys and play areas
- Monitor and gently correct children’s behavior and adapt to the various needs of children and parents
- Have patience and compassion suitable for working with young children
- Have the spirit of flexibility and a Christ-like attitude in all that they say and do
**Supervisory responsibilities**: May supervise student workers, as determined by the Director
**Qualifications**:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma.
- Commitment to work 15-20 hours a week including finals week.
- Ability to be **highly punctual** and to successfully allocate and manage time.
- Must love children.
- Must have a warm and friendly personality with sensitivity to the feelings and needs of both children and adults.
- Display a willingness to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the center's philosophy and mission.
- Job requires much physical activity and a high energy level.
- Accuracy and efficiency is required
- Must be a student of Andrews University

**Interpersonal interactions**:
- Must be comfortable interacting with parents and teachers.
- Must love children.
**Physical demands**: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting,
carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and
significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 25% walking, and 70% standing. The job is performed under
some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
**Work environment**: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
