**About the Position**: Meeting California's ambitious climate goals will require community-driven actions that empower vulnerable populations to tackle climate change where it affects them most. Funded by the California Climate Action Initiative, **WUICAN** is a consortium of community-based organizations, California Native American Tribes, land managers (including IRC), and universities in Southern California. To address the need for more effective climate action, WUICAN's goals are to 1) create a new model for co-governance and co-design of climate solutions that center the needs of impacted communities; 2) build capacity for collaboration and decision-making across community-based organizations, universities, and land stewards; and 3) develop community-driven practices and policies for land and water stewardship in the face of climate change. As a member of WUICAN, IRC is helping coordinate community-engaged research to manage fire and water in California landscapes. The goal is to reduce wildfire risk and mitigate precipitation extremes through interdisciplinary research co-developed with vulnerable communities across the urban wildlands of Southern California.

The **Program Coordinator** will work closely with a cross-functional team to support WUICAN initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of people and wants to contribute to meaningful outcomes. The position will oversee the development and delivery of WUICAN projects and activities, support community-engaged research on climate resilience, and facilitate interdisciplinary research and foster connections between academic partners and the diverse stakeholder networks in Southern California and throughout the state.
- Experience participating in project and work plan development and implementing project tasks with established timelines and deliverables.
- Demonstrated successful experience working and communicating with diverse groups.
- Experience with data collection, management, and interpretation.
- Communication proficiency, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365, particularly working in the SharePoint environment.

**Salary Range**: $30.25 - $33.40 per hour ($63,000 - $69,500 per year)
