Companion Wanted for Elderly Lady

Job Summary: At Home Services for Independent Living is seeking a compassionate Companion to provide support and companionship to a lovely elderly lady in Southold, New York. This is a part-time, hourly healthcare/medical position, with a compensation of $20 per hour paid weekly. As a Companion, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for the elderly lady by providing companionship, assistance, and support in daily activities.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Hourly wage of $20 per hour paid weekly
- Part-time schedule, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 11 AM to 3 PM
- Opportunities for additional hours and advancement within the company

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide companionship and emotional support to the elderly lady
- Engage in activities such as reading, playing games, and going for walks
- Assist with daily tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders
- Provide transportation to local appointments and outings. **Gas compensation is provided**.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the elderly lady
- Communicate with the client’s family and care team to update them on the client’s well-being

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience providing care for the elderly or a background in healthcare/medical field preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding nature
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must pass background checks
- Must have a clear understanding and respect for the elderly and their needs
- Must be physically able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds as needed
