What You'll Contribute

The Director, Financial Crimes Risk will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Fraud Risk Management framework to effectively minimize risk and adhere to applicable regulations within our company.

What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Fraud Risk Management framework including ownership and administration of key Second Line of Defense capabilities for the organization.
- Responsible for studying the current (and emerging) risk and regulatory landscape in order to orchestrate the Fraud Risk Assessment across business units and product lines.
- Develop and enforce the Fraud Risk Policy and Fraud Risk Appetite, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Execute risk management governance routines, such as: Fraud-related RCSA risk and control reviews, complaint analysis, change oversight and issue monitoring.
- Advise and direct the First Line on specific sectors of risk to focus on and recommend appropriate control measures to minimize fraud and financial crimes risks, where appropriate.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on financial crimes and fraud risks, red flags, and reporting obligations.
- Partner with security and analytics teams to develop and execute on Authentication Risk Strategy oversight activities.
- Collaborate across the team and the broader organization to support the bank’s Elder Financial Exploitation program.
- Regularly prepare and present data-driven reports for leadership on the state of Fraud Risk.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, risk management, and business units, to ensure effective collaboration and coordination in managing financial crimes risks.

What you have

Minimum education, skills and experience required.
- 10+ years of applicable experience in managing fraud and financial crime risks (at least 5 years in a Second Line of Defense function).
- Expert level understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that affect the organization.
- Expert level skill for organizing, analyzing and understanding data and creating insightful reports and presentations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective risk management strategies and frameworks.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, investigations, and reporting on financial crimes incidents.
- Experience with consumer deposit and loan products, including knowledge of effective ACH and Wire fraud strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Preferred education, skills, and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred, such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
