The **Receiving & Inventory Specialist** will receive all incoming product and input into Ceres. They will schedule incoming appointments, unload trucks, stock product in the appropriate location (freezer, cooler, or dry), input product into the inventory system and process all post receipt adjustments. They will ensure that appropriate documentation of inventory transactions is retained and that data entry is conducted in a timely and accurate manner. The Specialist will assist with other distribution center activities as necessary.

**Position Duties**:

- Schedule all incoming trucks and coordinate returning pickups appropriate staff. Maintain and coordinate a truck receiving board and delivery calendar in collaboration with Food Sourcing, Distribution Center and Transportation teams.
- Receive all incoming product into distribution center; this includes unloading truckloads and consolidating walk-in donations, review and confirm accuracy of shipping documents, notify Food Resources Manager of any discrepancies, and properly notate any discrepancies on the appropriate document.
- Inspect all loads before, during and after unloading product; coordinate with Quality Assurance Manager and Food Resources Manager to determine if questionable loads should be accepted, coordinate the proper documentation of any damaged or spoiled product with the Food Resources Manager.
- Stock all received product into the appropriate rack locations including dry storage, freezer and cooler.
- Enter incoming products into the inventory system according to established procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
- Consolidate all receiving paperwork (purchase order, bill of lading, shipping documents, donor documents, receiver, etc.) and provide to appropriate individual as outlined in SOPs.
- Assist with daily cycle counts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end inventory and reconciliation.
- Research, rectify and reconcile inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with maintenance of a clean, safe, and orderly distribution center.
- Assist Distribution Center Associates with regular duties as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Perform any other duties as needed to fulfill our mission, drive our vision and abide by our values.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**

Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma and two years of related experience working in a distribution center/warehouse environment.
- Must obtain ANSI Food Manager safety accreditation within the first 90 days of employment.

Preferred Education/Experience
- Previous experience with food receiving/distribution.
- Lived experience with the impacts of systemic racism or marginalization.

Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, the individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Employee will be expected to learn and effectively use internal software programs including Ceres within two months of hire.

Equipment
- Ability to operate forklift.
- Ability to operate pallet jack.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment as necessary.
