**Dispatcher Responsibilities**:

- Dispatch ambulances to scheduled runs to ensure appropriate medical level of transport care to area facilities.
- Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors and or the public.
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls in CAD system.
- Provide top tier customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our field staff
- Gather and verify billing information including full patient demographics, insurance information, eligibility, and authorization required by insurance, medical necessity, and payers.
- Maintain professional demeanor in office and while on the phone with customers.
- Intake a large call volume and triage to determine appropriate level of care and coordinate transport.
- Display knowledge of appropriate medical terminology and conditions
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Dispatcher Requirements**:

- EMT, EMD, or ETC Certification
- BLS with American Heart Association
- Tech-savvy with knowledge of computer aided dispatch software (CAD)
- Fast typing (30 words/minute)
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
- Active listener with excellent communication skills
- Sound judgement and critical thinking
- Proven experience as a dispatcher in an EMS/ Clinical background is **required**.
