**Job description**

Our Company is looking for a high-caliber payroll specialist to be responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll. The payroll specialists has a range of duties that include collecting timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring employees receive their pay on time. Additionally, this position acts as a backup to Accounts Payable.

**PAYROLL SPECIALIST SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepares weekly payroll for approx. 250+ employees
- Collects all timesheet data and payroll information from field and office personnel
- Executes payroll data entry with the understanding of prevailing wage and certified job classifications
- Prepares and remits all weekly Certified Payroll to General Contractors
- Ensures accurate taxation and garnishment deductions are remitted in accordance with payroll compliance
- Researches and resolves all payroll discrepancies, reporting to management
- Other administrative, payroll and/or Accounts Payable duties as assigned

**PAYROLL SPECIALIST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Associate degree (AS) in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and/or payroll certification preferred; High school diploma or GED required
- Two to three years’ experience working in Payroll or similar role
- Full understanding of Certified Payroll submission
- Proficient in data entry
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software to include Vista Viewpoint (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook Word)

This position requires the ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize daily workload and work with minimum supervision and the ability to meet deadlines, establish deadlines, and to prioritize deadlines.

**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
