**Primary Purpose**:
Under direct supervision, assist in the collection and reporting of the District’s Student Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS)/Texas Student Data System (TSDS) submissions and provide clerical assistance for the effective operations and facilitate student data record operations in the PEIMS Office.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
3 years of experience with PEIMS data management

**Education/Certification**

High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)

- Knowledge of PEIMS Data Standards and collection methods
- Knowledge of the Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS)
- Knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook
- Knowledge of student information software and user support
- Skills in Computer operations including data entry and editing
- Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

**Organization Management**

The PEIMS specialist manages administrative, fiscal, and facilities functions responsibly through activities such as the following:

- Assists in compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records, and other documents required for PEIMS submissions and/or audit
- Assists in running, edits, reports and provides verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.
- Distributes reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
- Develops and maintains a strong sense of customer service; communicates with various stakeholders, including campus personnel, District and state administrators, other Districts’ PEIMS / TSDS personnel
- Assists parents and families regarding records requests, registrations, and modification of records
- Print reports using database information including attendance reports, class rosters, end of semester reports and others as needed
- Assist in compilation of special requests for report downloads
- Organize, compile, and distribute the Weekly Membership Report
- Key and verify results according to procedures provided
- Query systems to provide student record data to meet legal requirements for record requests
- Perform other duties as assigned
