Cost Analyst

Job Summary:
The Cost Analyst in the manufacturing industry is responsible for analyzing and controlling costs to maximize profitability. This role involves evaluating production expenses, preparing cost reports, and working with various departments to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Cost Analysis**: Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead. Identify and report on cost variances.
- **Budget Preparation**: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual spending against budgets.
- **Reporting**: Prepare detailed cost reports and financial analyses. Present findings to management and recommend actions.
- **Cost Control**: Develop and implement cost control measures. Work with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels and assess the cost impact of inventory changes.
- **Pricing**: Support pricing decisions by providing cost estimates and profitability analysis for new and existing products.
- **Auditing**: Conduct periodic audits to ensure cost accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with finance, production, and purchasing departments to gather and analyze data.

Qualifications:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Proven experience as a cost analyst or in a similar financial role within the manufacturing industry.
- **Skills**:

- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing sites.

Work Environment:

- Office setting with some travel to manufacturing facilities.
- Collaborative work with various departments.

Additional Information:

- **Schedule**: Full-time position.
- **Reports to**: Finance Manager or Controller

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
