**About Us**
The Women's Center is a non-profit organization in the SouthCoast of Massachusetts dedicated to providing comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We offer a supportive environment for individuals to begin a journey to safety, hope, and empowerment.
**Position Location**:New Bedford
**Work Schedule**:Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35-hour workweek)
**Starting Pay Rate**: $75,000 to $85,000 (annualized)
**FLSA Classification**: Exempt
**Job Purpose**
The Shelter Services Director leads a team responsible for providing housing, food, and programs to help women, and sometimes their children, escape domestic violence and develop skills that will prepare them for life after shelter. One of the three shelters also supports those who need longer-term recovery to address substance misuse and/or trauma.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement the strategic vision and goals for Shelter Services in alignment with The Women’s Center mission and objectives.
- Interview and train new staff. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Ensure that all staff receive professional development to deliver high levels of service. Create an environment of individual accountability and teamwork.
- Manage and supervise the staff responsible for the 24/7 operation of residential shelters.
- Collaborate with other Directors and staff to facilitate integrated services and coordinate client care.
- Develop and oversee programs and services that provide housing, food, and support to women and children fleeing domestic violence and sexual assault and those who need longer-term recovery to address substance misuse and/or trauma.
- Oversee the provision of case management, including counseling, court advocacy, psychiatric care, medical advocacy, and other supportive services to participants.
- Review all intakes for appropriateness and approve or deny.
- Develop and implement programs and services that meet the unique needs of women battling substance misuse.
- Collaborate with community partners to provide referrals for comprehensive services to participants.
- Monitor program best practices, performance, and outcomes and implement continuous quality improvement strategies.
- Ensure that services are provided in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including clinical supervision.
- Oversee and manage services provided via the 24/7 hotline.
- Oversee collaboration and referrals from Department of Child and Families.
- Oversee use of hotel for emergency shelter, managing relationships with local businesses.
- Oversee and support staff in managing shelter budgets.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Familiar with legal and regulatory requirements as well as knowledge of best practices in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault, and substance misuse
- Technology savvy - proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, public administration, or related field
- Licensed mental health professional (LICSW) in Massachusetts preferred
- Six years’ experience in domestic violence shelter support, counseling, advocacy, or related field
- Four years’ experience in staff supervision, training, and development; proficient leading and managing people in a social service setting
