Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Stewarding Manager to oversee the stewarding operations within our F&B operations, hotels, and banquet facilities. The Stewarding Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the back-of-house areas, while also leading a team of dedicated stewards to deliver exceptional service.

Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:

- Provide effective leadership to the stewarding/housemen team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to encourage teamwork and productivity.
- Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure efficient operation of the stewarding department.

Inventory and Supply Management:

- Oversee inventory control for all stewarding supplies, including chemicals, equipment, and utensils (conduct yearly inventory of all equipment).
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and place orders as necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Implement cost-saving measures and waste reduction strategies to optimize resource utilization.

Sanitation and Hygiene Standards:

- Enforce strict sanitation and hygiene protocols in accordance with California health and safety standards, as well as company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment, dishwashing facilities, and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
- Implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain a pristine and hygienic environment.
- Train and enforce FOG logs according to city standards and conduct meetings twice a year.

Banquet Preparation and Plate Ups:

- Coordinate with the banquet team to ensure timely setup and preparation of banquet events.
- Oversee plate ups to ensure that dishes are presented beautifully and meet the highest culinary standards.
- Work closely with the culinary team to streamline banquet operations and facilitate smooth service.

Operational Efficiency:

- Streamline operational processes to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to facilitate smooth workflow and timely delivery of dishes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges related to stewarding operations.

Communication and Coordination:

- Liaise with various departments, including culinary, housekeeping, and banquet operations, to coordinate stewarding activities and support their needs.
- Communicate effectively with management and staff to convey expectations, updates, and feedback.
- Work closely with our Third-Party (Food Safety Associates) and assist with training and Food Handlers requirements.
- Review and improve Health Department reports and meet with island representatives if in our venues.

**Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation standards, safety regulations, and proper handling of chemicals and equipment, including familiarity with California health and safety standards.
- Experience with banquet preparation and plate ups is highly desirable.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Certification in food handling and sanitation.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
