**Overview**:
Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp is seeking passionate and dedicated Inclusion Counselors to join our team at both our Upper East Side and Battery Park City locations. Inclusion Counselors will work closely with campers with diverse needs, ensuring they have a positive and inclusive camp experience. They will provide individualized support, facilitate participation in activities, and promote social engagement under the guidance of the Camper Care Specialist. This role is ideal for paraprofessionals and ABA therapists looking to make a meaningful impact in a recreational setting.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Provide Individualized Support: Develop a deep understanding of each camper's strengths, challenges, and support needs. Offer personalized support to help campers successfully participate in camp activities and foster their sense of belonging.

2. Facilitate Participation: Encourage and facilitate camper participation in a wide range of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, swimming, and field trips. Modify activities as needed to accommodate individual abilities and preferences.

3. Promote Social Engagement: Create opportunities for campers to connect with their peers, develop friendships, and build social skills.

4. Collaborate with Camp Staff: Work collaboratively with camp counselors, specialists, leadership, and the Camper Care Specialist to ensure a cohesive and inclusive camp environment. Advocate for campers’ support needs to staff and campers’ peers.

5. Ensure Safety and Well-being: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all campers at all times. Adhere to camp policies and procedures, implement appropriate behavior management strategies, and respond effectively to any emergencies or incidents.

6. Handle Sensitive Information: Recognize and respect the confidentiality of sensitive information about campers. Maintain strict adherence to nondisclosure policies and ensure intentional handling of all sensitive information in accordance with camp guidelines.

7. Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as de-escalation strategies, ages and stages of child development, and supporting campers of all abilities.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience working with individuals with diverse needs, preferably in a camp or recreational setting.
- Strong commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and equity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with campers and colleagues.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (training will be provided if needed).
- Ideal for paraprofessionals and ABA therapists seeking a rewarding summer opportunity.

Stipend for the summer ranges based on experience from $5120-$5230

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $2,550.00 - $2,615.00 per month

Schedule:
