This position is responsible for managing, planning and organizing the resident's admission process within the rules, standards and laws of the Federal, State and County governments, as well as within the guidelines of the community. This position exercises discretion and independent judgment when interacting with referral resources and making a decision related to the admission of residents. This position regularly applies sales and marketing principles when interacting with healthcare professionals including, but not limited to members of hospitals, home health agencies, case managers, surrounding nursing homes and physicians in private practice for purposes of generating referrals.

**KEY POSITION SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILTIES**
- Performs all functions and work related to the admission of residents to the facility, including admissions paperwork, pre-admission assessments, referral source development in adherence to all HDG systems.
- Responsible for building, tracking and reporting on volume of referrals, admissions and census as it relates to meeting or exceeding budgeted census and premium mix goals.
- Responsible for managing the marketing activities for an assigned coverage area on a daily basis to include meeting with medical, insurance, legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, special interest groups, hospital staff, other community contacts, and potential residents and their families.
- Develops and execute marketing action plans as required. Works to identify changes in the market and niche programming opportunities.
- Provides both internal and external educational in-services and other educational opportunities to the community, facility, and providers in assigned area.
- Trains and coordinate appropriate in-house staff to serve as back-up for tours and the admission process including the completion of all required paper work to facilitate an admission in the absence of Director of Admission and Marketing.
- Maintains a working knowledge of managed care referral process.
- Develops and maintain a database of contacts/community resources along with knowledge of industry trends and legislative/regulatory issues.
- Monitors and evaluate customer satisfaction, share results with management team to develop action plans as needed. Utilize discharge satisfaction survey to send to discharged residents.
- Assists in the development and ordering of facility materials such as brochures, press releases, and any advertising etc.
- If applicable, collaborates with Admissions Assistant to manage intake of member and families.
- Communicates appropriately with providers, attending physicians, other appropriate staff members, and other agencies as needed to ensure excellent provider relations.
- Demonstrates familiarity with policies of the facility and state and federal regulations pertaining to long-term care services.
- Participates on committee and special projects and other related duties as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Education_
- Completion of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with course work in sales, marketing, business administration, social services or related area.
- Clinical education highly desirable (completion of a state approved licensed nursing program).
- Experience_
- Three (3) years of experience in health care setting working within a sales and marketing role preferred, but not required.
- Availability_
- Must work schedule as required; could also be required to work occasional irregular hours (which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours).
- Other_
- Compliance with infectious disease policies and procedures related to, but not limited to tuberculosis screening of health-care workers.
