**Introduction**:
The Bureau of Job Service in the Division of Employment & Training is currently recruiting to fill one Employment & Training Specialist - Lead position. This position will be headquartered at the Madison office location located at 1819 Aberg Ave. It is anticipated that this position will work approximately 3 days per week at our Madison headquarter location, and 2 days per week at our Jefferson County office location. This position will be responsible for covering counties in WDA 10. Please see our Workforce Development Area (WDA) map to see counties located in WDA 10.

Frequent travel within assigned region, with the occasional need for overnights, is required.

**Position Summary**:
The Team Leader position is responsible for planning and coordinating the delivery of several employment-related services as a key partner in local Job Centers. This position provides leadership and directs resources necessary to implement the division's mission, goals, and objectives while working effectively with partner agencies, diversity, changing conditions, and multiple priorities. This position will be responsible for fostering connections between businesses and job seekers, facilitating successful business-workforce relationships.

**Salary Information**:
Starting salary is between $22.06 - $27.06 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits. For more benefits information, view our benefits overview, or more in-depth benefits e-learning.

A 12-month probationary period will be required. The classification title for this position is Employment & Training Specialist - Lead (schedule 12, range 64). This position is not represented in a collective bargaining unit.

Pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees.

**Job Details**:
We consider all qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local law. Finalists for this position may be required to allow DWD to conduct a background check or other checks to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. For positions with access to sensitive federal tax information, FBI fingerprinting may also be required.

DWD does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. This is not a contract position. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

You **need to have** the following experience:

- Providing full service to meet customer needs
- Computer skills in basic office software (i.e. MS Word, Excel, TEAMs, Outlook, etc.)
- Working in group or team settings
- Managing multiple, competing workloads

Any of the following experience would be **nice to have**:

- Leadership experience (i.e. training, leading teams, projects, or workgroups, or similar. Does NOT have to be formal supervisory experience)
- Public speaking
- Case management (i.e. assessing and documenting consumer needs)
- Providing employment and training services (i.e. assisting people with job searches, resumes, interviews, career exploration, etc.)
- Communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders
