The Grants SME will directly support the client Acquisitions Division carrying out pre
- and post-award tasks in support of federal assistance agreements (e.g. grants and cooperative agreements). Tasks include but are not limited to: conducting reviews of project narratives, budgets, and other documentation to support an award or modification, coordinating/facilitating communications with customers (internal and external), preparing awards and modifications including creating and assembling all supporting documentation, and assisting as needed with data calls and audit requests.

**What You'll Do**:
**Pre-Announcement Support Functions**:

- Assist in the development and ensure compliance with grants and agreements policies and guidance
- Analyze requirements and provide advice on the proper instrument to achieve the defined requirements
- Support internal review and approval per agency process and policy
- Prepare for the release of Grants announcements and receipt of proposals per instructions, and consistent with agency policies and procedures

**Announcement and Applications Evaluation Support Functions**:

- Assist with publication of the approved Grants announcements and proposal instructions
- Assist the Grants Officer with the receipt and initial compliance reviews of the proposal submissions
- Support, as directed, the review and evaluation of the grants proposals per the evaluation criteria ensure the process is fully documented with rationale for evaluation recommendations
- Grants Award Support Functions:

- Prepare the award document and supporting documentation (per agency policies and procedures) for review and approval of the Grants Officer
- Publish, per agency policy and procedures, grant or cooperative agreement awards and ensure proper distribution of funding

**Post Award Support Functions**:

- Monitor execution to ensure funding is received and all required reporting is completed consistent with the provisions of the award
- Assist the Grants Officer in monitoring internal controls for grants and agreements to ensure accountability and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse
- Support the Grants Officer with required reporting per agency policies and procedures
- Support the Grants Officer with audit compliance and resolution

**Must Haves**:

- A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience preparing and/or supporting Federal assistance agreement activities
- A minimum of an Bachelor's degree; or Equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects independently and as part of a team
- Current DoD Secret Clearance

**Nice to Haves**:

- CGMS (Certified Grants Management Specialist) certification (highly desired)
- One of the following Contracting-related certifications: DAWIA Contracting Level III, FAC-C Level III, strongly desired or CPCM.
