Fitness Specialist

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is searching for a **_Fitness Specialist_** to join our incredible Therapeutic Recreation team This full-time position will assist the Director of Therapeutic Recreation in creating and implementing physical movement programming which will reduce stress, improve mood and strengthen our residents.

Job Responsibilities:

- Create and implement resident fitness-focused programming.
- Ensure residents have fitness-focused supplies and oversee ordering as needed.
- Work with Recreation Leaders to ensure exceptional execution of programs.
- Work collaboratively with Interdisciplinary team (IDT) to enhance resident care experience.
- Participate in planning and preparation for facility special events.
- Research, share and utilize latest Therapeutic Recreation modalities.
- Create individualized care plans for residents and participate in care plan meetings with IDT team.
- Document resident interactions and activities through progress notes in EMR system.

Experience needed:

- 1-2 years in creating and implementing fitness-focused programming in group settings, such as fitness centers, community and senior centers, schools, yoga studios, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Experience with geriatric and/or disabled populations preferred.

**$25/hr, full time position**
