We provide automated solutions dedicated to the analysis and the management of global bank relationships; we are the next generation of bank account management software The team is composed of treasury experts who have worked over the last two decades with hundreds of Fortune 1000 and Eurostoxx 50 companies in developing strategies to monitor, audit and optimize their bank relationships and bank fees. Payment card - advising clients for multiple industries to optimize fees across all processors.

**The Role**

The Data Specialist role is a junior entry level role.

You will be a valuable team member ensuring that all the monthly data collected for our clients is captured, classified, normalized, and confirmed for accuracy. This ensures that the data entered into our systems is ready for analysis by our internal teams. It is essential that you become an expert in understanding the fees charged to merchants for processing credit card transactions and to gain the ability to understand and read monthly merchant statements and transaction reports. This will give you the ability to classify and normalize payment card data to ensure data consistency. You will work closely with internal teams, communicating and addressing needs timely to ensure key stakeholders are informed and deadlines are met.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Assist in the inventorying and importing of payment card merchant statements received monthly for monitoring and consulting engagements.
- Work timely and effectively, with a high level of accuracy to meet all deadlines.
- Use context clues and field research to harmonize data across all clients.
- Manipulate source data, sifting through data points to assign categories, and classify fees, structuring the data for reporting analysis by our internal stakeholders.
- Identify improvement opportunities for additional validations and data accuracy.
- Define methods for handling standard and nonstandard data
- Stay aware of industry data capture processing tools and technologies to help the team grow and utilize new ideas
- Collaborate with the wider team to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and ensure data governance is upheld
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
- Strong Excel and SQL knowledge with experience using business intelligence tools
- Understanding of query functions and report writing to present findings
- Ability to identify parsing and data normalization errors for data accuracy
- Good understanding of database tables, fields, relationships, constraints, views, and query code.

**Technical skills**:

- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
- Strong Excel and SQL knowledge with experience using business intelligence tools
- Understanding of query functions and report writing to present findings
- Ability to identify parsing and data normalization errors for data accuracy
- Good understanding of database tables, fields, relationships, constraints, views, and query code.
- Ability to read select statements with multiple table joins to ensure the protection of data and the accuracy of the results for consistent reporting

**Required competencies for the role**:

- Self-learner with a critical eye for complex problem solving
- Experience in pattern recognition and trend analysis
- Detail oriented mindset to ensure accuracy and completeness of data processing
- Ability to work independently as well as with the team, collaborating on several projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of payment card activity highly preferred

**Education/Training Preferred**:

- Bachelors in Math / Computer Science - Modeling Data Science / Statistics, Economics, or similar
- Some experience in data capture and analytics is preferred
- Financial industry knowledge a plus
