**Job Title: Mold Maker**

**Job Location: Elmhurst, Illinois**
- Comet Die & Engraving was founded by Jacob “Honest Jake” Salg who was a journeyman hand engraver who emigrated from Germany in 1898. He settled in Chicago and opened Comet Engraving Company on Franklin Street.
- The company expanded three times to keep pace with the ever growing demands of the plastic industry for injection molds.
- Jake’s son Werner “Skip” presided over the business in the 30s, 40s, and 50s followed by his son-in-law Terry Donlin in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Today Jake’s great grandsons T.J. and Michael Donlin take pride in providing customers with the highest quality tooling.

**Must Haves**:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of mold making
- Experience with plastic injection molding.
- MUST have the ability to use tool room equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and welding, etc.
- Must have experience working on molds with tight tolerance parts.
- Good communication skills.
- CNC and/or design experience is a PLUS.
- Experience in hot runner repair and maintenance is a PLUS
- Formal apprenticeship in mold making and/or some college-related coursework.

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- CNC: 1 year (preferred)
- Ability to use tool room equipment: 1 year (required)
- Mold Making: 3 years (required)
- Plastic Injection molding: 2 years (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Elmhurst, IL: Relocate before starting work (required)
